ARTIST BIO
Yagama is a visual artist working in a large variety of media, including painting, poetry, site specific installations, set design, performance and, of course, video art. She studied Painting and Cultural Anthropology at the City University of New York – Hunter College and is presently studying at the university of life. She has lived in various parts of the world, currently oscillating between Sofia and Berlin. In 2006 she founded of the Uga Buga Art Collective, with which she realized several site specific projects inspired by myth and ritual transformation, and became interested in live video – her childhood dream of painting music coming true. Since then she has performed at numerous events ranging from parties and festivals to theatre productions, and has co-authored several theater and film projects. She is also active as a fire performer and set designer.:)

VJ WORK
“I am Hungry” is a project investigating the notions of food and hunger in a satirical way. It is based on the theatre-cinema performance by the same name I am working on now with my sister Ilina Perianova. The theatre performance has three parts which look at hunger from different perspectives and are based on three different plays, set in disparate times and spaces. In my project I will be using mostly material from the second part, with filmed and animated content relating to food. A triple head should be used. Because I am very busy at the moment and some other reasons, I couldn’t do a demo mix but I am sending some sample stills.
